The owner looks at your job
I come out to every job myself before we price it, so the person writing your estimate is the one who actually saw the crack. Our masons do the work, and I'm on site to check it. That's how we've run things since 2013.
We're a masonry contractor based in Beaumont, and we fix cracked brick, crumbling mortar and leaky chimneys on Vidor homes by going after what caused the damage. Call (409) 240-0376 and I'll come take a look.

Most Vidor calls start with something you spotted from the yard: a crack climbing the brick by a window, mortar that rubs off like sand, or a water stain on the ceiling next to the chimney. A lot of the houses we work on here are brick-front homes on slabs, many with a brick chimney, and they take the same heavy rain, heat and storm wind as the rest of Southeast Texas.
That kind of damage stays quiet for a while. Water gets into a worn joint, the brick around it loosens, and a small repair turns into a bigger one the longer it sits, so it pays to have it looked at early.
We reply to every call and message within one business day. I come out to your Vidor house myself, look at the job in person and send you a written estimate after the visit. The estimate is free and comes with no obligation.
(409) 240-0376Most of our Vidor work is cracked brick, worn mortar joints and chimney repair, because those are the parts of a house the weather gets to first. We also build and repair brick and block walls, stone veneer, walkways, driveway pavers, retaining walls and outdoor kitchens, and we look at foundation cracks before anyone starts talking about bigger work.
In Vidor, permits go through the city's Code Enforcement department, which also acts as the building official and oversees the inspectors, so the permit and the inspections run through one office. If your job needs a permit, the start date waits on it, so I'll tell you at the estimate, and we help get it in place before our masons show up. We're fully licensed and insured, and you're welcome to ask to see it. What moves the price is how much brick or mortar has to come out, how hard your brick is to match, how high we have to work, and what we find once a wall is open, and your written estimate puts a figure on all of it.
Vidor is a short drive from Beaumont, so getting a crew and materials out here is easy, and coming back to check a repair doesn't turn into a trip. We do the same work in Lumberton, Orange and plenty of other cities around Beaumont, and the houses here give us the mix we know well, from brick chimneys to walks and patios that have taken years of rain.

We're best known for brick, mortar and chimney repairs that blend in with what's already on the house, so the fix doesn't stand out from the street. We match the brick, the mortar color and the joint shape, and we fix the cause first.
If a small repair will do, I'll tell you, because selling you a wall you don't need isn't how I want to be known. We keep the mess small and treat your house like ours, and it's satisfaction guaranteed on every job. Call (409) 240-0376 to set up a visit.
Your price comes from what your house actually needs, and I put it in writing after I've looked at it in person. Two cracked walls rarely need the same fix, so a figure over the phone would be a guess. A smaller repair often does the job, and when it does, I'll tell you.
Your start date mostly turns on the estimate visit and whether the job needs a permit, which we sort out first if it does. After that, rain is the usual hold-up, because fresh mortar shouldn't get soaked before it sets. I'll give you a realistic start when I send your estimate.
Code Enforcement says all permit applications should be emailed to CODEENFORCEMENT@CITYOFVIDOR.GOV. The department has separate forms for general, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and commercial building permits, and its list doesn't name masonry, so ask them which form fits your job. If we're doing the work, we check that with them before we start.
In some parts of the city, yes. The city says on its website that it's currently waiving permit fees for new builds and remodeling projects in five designated reinvestment zones, areas tied to its plans to grow. The waiver only covers the fee, so you still need the permit, and Code Enforcement can tell you whether your address is in a zone.
Most cracks we see come from the ground moving under the house or from water working into worn mortar. A stair-step crack along the joints usually points to movement, while soft, crumbling joints mean water has been at them for years. I find the cause first, because patching a crack the ground keeps opening just gets you the same call next year.
Keep people away from the chimney and don't light the fireplace until it's been checked, because a hit can loosen brick and crack the flue liner, the tube that carries smoke up and out. Vidor residents can take limbs and trees from their property to the city's free limb yard on Watts Street, which the city recently said is back open. Then give us a call, and I'll come see what the chimney needs.
